Hoot-N-Annie Guest Post//Making a Fitness Space

During my yoga teacher training this week I asked a few of my blog friends to help me out with their thoughts on workouts. Yesterday I featured Brandi from MuchoMuchoBuenoBueno and her preferences for working out with a gym group. TODAY, Amber from Hoot-N-Annie for her ideas on creating a home work-out space. Enjoy!!

I am not one that likes to spend hours at the gym. I typically try to go 2-3 days a week to just get my cardio session on. The weights area for me is a little intimidating, and therefore, I tend to avoid it at all costs.

I knew that lifting was crucial for my body to tone up and drop those extra pesky pounds still hanging on.  Fixing up a small area in my home was the best option for me and you really don’t need much to set up an area for yourself.

To carve out an area to burn some calories, all you need is:
*A small floor space. Our house is tiny, so I just cleaned out an area in our spare room. And it is just that… a very small area.
*An area rug. I picked up a 4x 6 rug at Target for around $30.00
*Yoga Mat
*Hand Weights
*exercise dvds . If you can’t afford to buy a lot of dvd’s, I have found some great videos on you tube. There are also a lot of apps that you can download to your iPad or iPhone. I even went to Vintage Stock (a used movie/music store) and found some Jillian Micheals dvd’s for $3! Score! Amazon is another great option. They allow you to download several different workout videos to your computer for a fraction of what it costs to actually purchase the dvd. So there are some great cheap options out there.
*an attitude to succeed!!
So what are you waiting for?? Make some room in your schedule and your home for a little exercise. You will be thankful that you did!
XOXO
Amber
