:::A Synonym for Beautiful:::
So, these past few weeks I have been working on a memoir. It's always been a dream of mine to be a writer, and so I chose the experience in my life that made me believe that one day I could be to start out with.
And here I am... publishing my first book.
It's a travel memoir/novella about the first time I traveled abroad, and how it basically...irrevocably changed my life.
At first I was a little hesitant about it, because every other word in the book seemed like it was a synonym for 'beautiful', but finally I accepted that if the experience had been anything else...any less beautiful... then it wouldn't have meant so much to me, and I would now be living a completely different life.
It felt so good to 'give away' these memories. They had been such constant companions to me for the past five years, and when my husband and I returned to the Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon last year, I realized that it was time to pass on my lessons to other people in the sincere hope that they would resonate with others as much as they had me. I did my best to describe the scenes and situations to make the reader feel like they might be right there with me, sharing a bowl of gnocchi or a glass of crisp Italian wine.
It is available here on kindle:Kindle Version//Paradise of Exiles
And in paperback from the publisher here: Paperback Version//Paradise of Exiles
It's a quick read, about 60 pages, but if you love to travel, love the Amalfi Coast, want to travel or would someday like to go to the Amalfi Coast, then I think this might hit the spot.
Or, alternatively if you've ever had a life altering experience, fallen in love with a place, re-fallen in love with yourself or enjoyed being selfish...I think you'd enjoy it.
Either way, I'm putting it out into the world, hoping it brings smiles to others half as much as the living it/writing it brought smiles to me.
Read on, and namaste y'all!
