Extra, Extra//Read All About It!

Recently I got the thrill of my life when Horizon Books in Traverse City, Michigan started carrying my book, Shears of Fate: A Novel of Memory and Madness in their store. (IN THEIR STORE!)

It's one thing as an author to see your book for sale on online sites like Amazon or Barnes and Noble, but to actually be able to physically go to the bookstore that I have spent many Northern Michigan summer days browsing through, and pick up a book that I wrote... that's powerful. A dream come true.  People can come in and hold it, read it, flip through the pages... just like any other book on the shelves. Except that it's my book, that I wrote and imagined, and brought to life. Like I said, dream come true.

And it's definitely encouragement to keep on reaching, keep on dreaming, and to keep on writing. And with the next book more than half finished, I am filled with hope for the future.

So, I guess my point is, whatever you're looking to achieve, keep at it. It's amazing what a little hard work and a wish on a star can do. (mostly hard work, but also some star wishing)
