And as I am one to make excuses, weather changes definitely throw me off my workouts. So, I had to get a little ninja style.
I run with the dog everyday, so the cardio is taken care of. I yoga for about 20-30 minutes 5 days a week, but....dynamic exercises? Sometimes they fall to the wayside. So I decided to trick myself into getting a little sweaty in between parts of my day. It's pretty simple. On my to-do list, I add in "Lunges" or "Calf-Raises", "Squats" and "Push-ups". I write my goal number for each activity of the the day, and then break it down in groups of 10 or 20. As I do them, I mark them off. So, instead of freaking out that I am going to do 70-100 of an exercise...instead I do 20 squats and 30 calf raises while waiting for the microwave, or lunges while I brush my teeth. It feels so good to get to the end of the day and realize how many mini-workouts I fit in to the day, without really even noticing. The picture above shows what that ends up looking like mid-day. (except that this is a fake list that I decided I really would use after I started making it, so I didn't want to cross off too much.)
Fitness is a lifestyle, and you have to make it work for you. And if I want to eat spelt chocolate chip cookies errday, then I have to do some workouts. Just sayin'. Priorities, people.
Be well, get sweaty and know that all the little things you do COUNT towards your goals!
