Soto Penetrable, Houston Museum of Fine Arts

Soto's Penetrable is here in Houston. In fact, it's his largest & final creation and one of the few designed for indoor display. But the magic of Soto's work is the total immersive experience it allows patrons to feel with the artwork. It is art not only to be seen, but to be heard, touched, wandered through, and even kiss inside of.

Over 24,000 PVC tubes which are hand painted and tied hang two stories high, and feature a golden orb which seems to hover inside of a transparent background, when viewed from the side or above.

Soto's Penetrables have been experienced around the world in the past 50 years. From Museo Ciudad in Venezuela, to the Guggenheim, all the way over to Buenos Aires. If you are in the Houston area, we would both highly recommend an opportunity to feel art, and have an experience of beauty + discovering of self.
